John Austin will be greatly missed by the environmentalists of this area. He was a Founding Member of the Inland Bays Foundation , an original member of the Board of Directors, the Science Coordinator. He did extensive work analyzing and responding to the analysis done by NRG on their coal ash pile in the Indian River that resulted in a study of aquatic life in Indian River and Pepper Creek. He was a great advocate for the environment throughout his professional life at the EPA and after retirement for the DE Inland Bays. His scientific expertise greatly enhanced the IBF’s efforts to fight for better water quality in the Delaware Bays.
